Remote Programming (not a replacement key thread)

    Hello all,

I'm not sure if I've done something to my '06 A8 L or not. My issue is this. Originally, if I was within 5ft of the car, someone reaching their hand under any doorhandle would activate unlocking. The other day, I was testing if holding the unlock button for an extended time would roll down the windows (it doesnt), then proceeded to try this with the trunk button, and lock button. Now, I've noticed that when I get out of the car and press the button on the handle, it locks the doors, but won't arm, it requires another press to arm the alarm. The other issue is that now someone on the other side of the car can't unlock by placing their hand under the door handle. What did I do ?

    Sorry for the droning.

    Thanks!

Wow that's wierd, on my car I have it set so all the doors unlock when the person with the key walks up to the door and pulls on the handle. Usually it's accurate enough so the person with the key has to be standing pretty close. And no I don't think the A8s have the remote window control feature like the A4s.

All of those options can be re-coded through the convenience module of the vehicle, it just requires changing the long coding. You can do it through a Vag-Com if you have the correct coding, or you can have the dealership change the coding with there VAS 5052 scanners.
