need new oil pan. anyone have one?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    haha, didn't think so

but basically, i was driving out of a ski resort's parking lot saturday. it was snowing all day so the parking lot was a mess. driving though some deep stuff and a few small piles of ice chunks, i happen to snag a watermellon sized rock underneath my car. it smaked right into the turbo's oil drain flange in the oil pan. ripped the ****** right out and all of my fresh less then 100 miles old synth is all over the Canyon's parking lot

anyways, does anyone out there have a spare oil pan they are wanting to sell me???

and i'll get pics of it tomorrow if you guys want. it's just at my brothers shop sitting for now until i find a new pan

seems there are enough engine builds going on that there must be a spare pan kicking around here somewhere. try any scrap yards? maybe same as passat oil pan?

that's what i was thinking about so many builds going on. but junk yards are tough as they remove and sell the engine's whole. a spare pan is not likely. tried all the classifieds(AW, here, vortex) and nothing. im not sure if the design is the same as the B5's. i know the 06a 2001's pan will bolt up. just not sure if the subframe clearance is the same..

    no.

but anything less than a 1/8" belly pan made out of steel would have gotten destroyed by the rock at the ~15mph i was going. the plastic belly pan would have been toast

oh trust me. i know of the best price's for OEM parts online. this is nothing new to me.

im just in no real rush to fix it and was going to see if anyone out there has an oil pan that they aren't doing anything with and want to make a bit of money off of it. all while saving me a few bucks in the process.

Talk to John (condo) or Jake (317ssayzarc). They might have an extra longitudinal oil pan laying around. Could also call BobQ or talk to Greg.

yeah, i saw that one but it only says 2001. i know it bolts to the 06a block. just not sure of the subrame clearance.

i'll email the seller and search around a little for some more info if 2001 and B6 pans are compatible.

    thanks for the link though!

though i haven't dived into the oil pan yet on the 1.8t. im not really worried about it. just looks like unbolt all the mounts and jack the motor up. maybe my intercooler pipes if i take it up high enough.

im estimating an hour if that

    1. Sean, the 01 A4 uses the 06a block, so the pan from the 01 will bolt right up

    2. I pulled my pan off just like you said... Without touching the subframe. Shawn (a4ringed) did the same

If you have a lift it would be easier to lower the subframe than to raise the motor

clint, i know it bolts to the 06a block(read other posts). im just not sure of the subrame clearance as we are on a different chassis.

im assuming that audi kept it the same as to keep R&D costs down like they like to do. but i just want to be certain before i drop coin. ya know

and thanks for confirming my thoughts on removing/installing. i have full access to a shop and a brother that removes nissan maxima engine's and tran's in literally less than 10 minutes. im not worried at all

Nothing fancy. It's black with unpainted () lowers, Yakima rack, and one of the new skier license plates.
