the mod bug has bitten again

What's up everyone, I just have one more quick question. As of right now my only performance mod is the rs4 sway bar that I love. Its time to change that so I made a list of what I have in mind...Apr 93 (dealer lock out and cel delete), test pipe (vmr), Dv (forge),
Boost gauge (vmr), Snub mount (ecs) Evoms intake (bc I'm not doing an exhaust just yet so I want something for the sound :)), Neuspeed race springs (lowest drop with just springs) and Spacers(12.5 front, 15 rear, do you think these will rub with the ti. Rims and yokohama advan s4 245/40/18 tires? )....What do you think of the list, any thing you would add or change? Any input would be a large help...thanks again Al

To each their own. Sounds like a good list to me...

Looks like a nice list! The only thing I would change are the springs to coilovers. Your ride will be better and more responsive especially with that sway bar. The coilovers will probably be about twice as expensive but in the long run you won't have to replace your shocks once the race springs help blow them out. So, technically you will be saving money in the long run. If you can't afford coilovers right now, I'd suggest saving up for them or dropping 1 or 2 items off your list.

check with dealers. I don't know where in NY you are but many dealers will do the chip for yyou and warrenty it for you. I know two dealers in the Northern Jersey Area. Riverside does APR. Jack Daniels does GIAC/Stasis I think.. They also will do parts for you, that is if you are worried about Warrenty Void....

List looks really nice! Id change the spacers, and springs for an exhaust. And then save up for coilovers or spring/shock combo. But if you stay with your list you will be a very happy buyer! Keep it up!

Re: the mod bug has bitten again

Thank you everyone for you opinions, as far as coils I don't think they are for me. I have read testimonials and some say springs alone are just fine minus the blowing the stock shock which doesn't really bother me bc my car is a lease. Will the shock and spring setup be noticeably stiffer and more agile? What's the best spring+shock combo? (By best I mean lowest stiffest) thanks Al

Re: the mod bug has bitten again

hmm.. where to start? =) save your $ on the intake, it's noise and we've seen aftermarket CAI's LOSE power on our dyno. race springs on stock dampers will be awful, please don't do that. advan's are brilliant. we have a DV relocation kit that wins the DV game. it's an upgraded OEM part in a better location with associated plumbing. Cheap and Rad.

JD is a STaSIS Signature Series dealer - you can buy our parts trough them and preserve your factory 4 year/50k mile warranty.

An rs4 bar is not a good idea on a stock a4 suspension [this is the 3rd time i've posted this in the last 15 minutes..]. an arb is a spring, it adds spring rate when the car rolls. an rs4 bar on stock suspension is the same as adding rear springs that are 5x stiffer than stock and leaving your front springs the same. probably not so good, right?

if you add too much rear spring [giant arb] proportionally, then you'll make the car very tail happy. the rear will not roll enough to get the tires to grip and the back end gets really light and scary. buy yourself springs and dampers, then a bar. it's $ better spent.

we've got streetsports for 1100 shipped [down from 1270]. that will TRANSFORM the way the car feels.

Re: the mod bug has bitten again

I just put Eibach Pro-Kit on my 08 Ti with 10mm fronts and 15mm rear spacers with the stock wheels. It looks good, rides about like my wife's R32, and only rubs at excessive speeds (mostly over 80) when the road gets bumpy. I have never driven a car with after-market COs so I do not have anything to compare it to. I had a set budget anyway to do the things I wanted and COs did not fit into it.

Re: the mod bug has bitten again

Id be careful on the spacers. Dont go too wide in the back. Im so close to the fender already with 10mm in the rear, it just seems like wider would rub for sure. Just for reference these are 10mm spacers in the back.
