The BAT guy's will want you to drop all your cash on go-fast. The BT guys are a bit more reasonable, but honestly, I say you refresh the entire car! Go with a moderately priced/sized turbo, refresh all control arms/bushings underneath the car and redo the suspension, get nice wheels/brakes, exhaust/turbo, basically everything that needs to be replaced, get it done! Make that sucker drive like new, only MUCH better, from the factory! You'll have a dead-reliable B5 that you can enjoy for years (and many christmas bonuses) down the line :)

    Just my 2 cents.

    Re: Hello Christmas Bonus!!!

Depends if you rather aesthetics or engine modifications. For me, if I have $6k to spend, it'd be mostly on aesthetics. I'd get a nice set of 3-piece rims, caractere or USP front, and an exhaust, and if any money was left over, an S4 rear.

    Re: Hello Christmas Bonus!!!

make your money stretch as far as possible, it will be gone before you know it!

    1) i suggest doing the DIY front to usp mod, [URL]http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=240134[URL] for $195 plus painting http://www.shop.dthaus.com/product.s...2&productId=35.
    2) 18" Wheels+tires
    3) Drop the car. Go either springs + struts (less expensive) or coil overs (more expensive buy adjustable)
    4) Depending on your drivetrain, BT
    5) Supporting mods to the BT including: Forge Diverter Valve, Boost gauge (optional), exhuast (optional), and more that i can't name

...as far as number 3) goes, i may be selling my Tein s-tech springs within a week or so, if you're interested

    fmic 1000
    clutch flywheel install 1000
ATP GTRS kit with EuroCode/REVO Software THE COMPLETE SOLUTION 2700

    Re: Hello Christmas Bonus!!!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Overall, i want a very clean look so i like the idea of the USP conversion and maybe RS4 reps?? I have an auto so I'm not looking to smoke anyone off the line or anything. I want enough to hold my own on the highway so the BT sounds good, i just have no idea what it would run me cost wise. Most of all, i want it to sound like sex when i drive past people. Would a DV have a big effect on an auto trans?

Is it FWD or quattro?? That makes a difference... If you have quattro (tiptronic auto trans) then you can do the BT, if you have FWD (CVT trans) then forget about BT and go with coilovers, USP conversion, and wheels.

    Re: Hello Christmas Bonus!!!

I'd save a large portion of that but if you must spend it then make it look good, then make it go fast. Everyone knows looking fast is soooooooooooo much more important than actually being fast lol. I kid, I kid.

    Honestly, I'd go:

    Suspension
    Wheels
    Front bumper at the minimum
    1+ chip
    Injectors
    Exhaust
    DV
    Tip
    Intercooler

That should be about 6 grand and you will be completely happy with the looks and performance of your car. Everyone telling you go BT is forgetting you will need supporting mods like intercooler, exhasut, and tip at the minimum which will run you about $2300 (plus the $2700 for the Eliminator kit) and you will still want brakes and a suspension which you will not have money left over for unless you cheap out on them. Do it right or do it twice, you can by all new quality parts on my list for $6000 (unless you want baller wheels like me). I'm all for the BT, but I wouldn't do it unless I had all supporting mods, suspension, and brakes first.

I wouldn't waste it all on your car. Investing or saving is a much better idea.

If you are set on spending it, an S4 isn't a bad idea. Your car is stock, and auto. If you want better looks, better interior, sexy sounds, and increased performance...a B6 S4 Auto can be picked up pretty cheap these days.

    Re: Hello Christmas Bonus!!!

i wish i had that kind of cash to spend

if you're looking for a nice settle change in exterior i would shoot for a otty front bumper and s4 rear. I would try finding a rep otty front unless you can find one that's on sale might want to check out otty america (some kind of az sale) the front normally runs 900.

led tail lights would be a great addition as well , it would look great contrasting your dg paint. ($150-300)

    lamin-x clear bra + headlights + tail light ($150-200)

revo flash , its flexible if you do decide to go bigger turbo later on ($500) you can add on additional injectors for a bit more power ($300)

rather then going bbk i'd get upgrade to some B5S4 calipers/rotors/steel brake lines ($300 or cheaper)

i'd also invest in some suspension parts , budget directions i'd get some bilstein sports shocks or konis ($450+) h&r springs ($100+ depending new or used i'd roughly say 200) or if you want to go coil overs i'd go with STASIS or a nice set of bilstein PSS9's ($900-1300)

upgrade your rims to 18 inches , rims are a personal taste so i won't say to much. if possible no RS4's reps. i'd go aftermarket like OZ , Volks , SSR
    ($900+)

Interior , i'd buy a pioneer unit a avic d3 ($400-500) or the newer avic f series ($600-1000) has built in gps , xm/sirius , ipod , mp3 etc. bluetooth , the reason I choose the pioneer over the RNS-E/D is it has a bigger screen and the button layout is a lot better. drop in a new amp and some FOCAL speakers ($?)

maintenance work sparks , newer type coil packs your going to surely need these if and when you get the flash. i blew my coils when i had the trial revo didnt even make it out of the parking lot before it blew ($200)

boost gauge is a must on most turbo cars , if can provide you with vital info about your car. winstons ipodi , new ($200) his ding'd ones are ($99) still a good deal if you read his thread people who've bought them stated no real blemishes or you can go the AWE vent gauge route its a bit more sutle. ($129) check the az sales thread

last thing would be a exhaust system , depending on where your located. a full cat back exhaust setup w/ downpipe ($900+)

oh and a aftermarket DV ($120+) i have the hyperboost and have been happy with it of course theres forge and other brands id stick with forge , bailey , or hyperboost

well there's my rant , i'd save up the rest . good luck

I agree with this 100%. If you aren't after lots of tunability (ie 1.8t) and since you have an auto and can't go crazy, just sell it and get an S4 that has power, and awesome interior, exterior, etc. And to make it extra awesome, get an avant!

Or save it for a down payment on a house, or whatever, etc. I wouldn't spend it all on the car, you never know what's coming down the road.

B5 S4 front brake kit, Stasis streetsport coilovers, GT71R Kit from eurocode, something nice for the GF or wifey! (or both)

then you'll get some play when you're not out driving the balls off the Audi!

    edit: automatic......... DOH!

The wise decision is to invest or save. The more fun option is to blow it all on performance.

Most of all, i want it to sound like sex when i drive past people. Would a DV have a big effect on an auto trans?
usp with rs4 reps=way played out. i dont even enjoy looking at them anymore lol. a dv will help if you get chipped.

    my suggestions are as follows:

    -exhaust (magnaflow or borla)
-dv (hybrid if you want the blow off sound)
    -injectors (tt225)
-stage 1+ chip (apr or revo)
    -wheels
    -suspension
-body mods if you have money left over.

then save for BT later. and dont forget youll need money for installation too if you dont plan on doing it yourself.

where in MA are you btw?
