Angry A New Sound! NOT A GOOD ONE!!!

UGHHHHH yet again... Here we freaking go.... I think i have taken the car apart now 4 times in the last month. Anyways... I started the car this morning and heard this:

    www.jmlpictures.com/upload/s4/video/sound.mov

Any ideas before i tear the thing apart again? I can't see anything hitting or rubbing right now which kind of leads me to believe that it's under the timing belt covers :( but i want a second or third opinion. This car is testing me to my limits right now!

Alternator bearing or power steering pump. It sounds like a bad bearing somewhere IMHO.

ok, i will do that. Can you take the belt off w/out removing the core support? (That would be so awesome if you could.

Re: A New Sound! NOT A GOOD ONE!!!

It's not the powersteering pump. I went out and started the car and tried turning the wheel and the noise stays the same... it doesn't change at all. Only time the noise changes is if i rev the engine.

Re: A New Sound! NOT A GOOD ONE!!!

I'm about 90% sure its your clutch fan hitting your bi-pipe. the mounts for the pipe on the belt cover break easily and it gives the pipe just enough room to hit the fan. if you have a plastic oem pipe, the fan will tear a hole in it, I found that out. I ended up having to buy a APR bi-pipe because of it.

if its hitting, you won't be able to see the point of contact, so look at the fan blades for damage and feel the bi-pipe with your hand to see if its damaged. if thats it, use a razor blade to trim up the back edge of the blades so it has some clearance

Re: A New Sound! NOT A GOOD ONE!!!

OK, it's the serpentine belt tensioner pully. It spins a lot and sounds like crap. Alternator sounds fine and spins w/out a noise.

    Josh

Oh and btw, i took the front end off (or mostly off). Everything is hooked up still but everything is unbolted so i could pull it far enough forward to take the belt off... and i did it in 30 min flat! HAHA So the good thing about all this is a have gotten REALLY good at taking this car apart!
