14 inch tires and wheels

Sorry I know this is a dumb question. But my neighbor has a set of 14 inch wheels and tires from his mercedes that he was going to give to me. They are snows. I know the bolt pattern is 5x112, so that is not a problem. But what I wonder is can a 14 fit onto a 2001 A4?

yeah they should work. just make sure the backspacing doesnt make them rub in the rear. perfect snow wheels

Might not clear the calipers... Give it a shot.

I'd put $$ on it not clearing the front brakes

rule of thumb is you need 4" larger rim than rotor and ours are 11.3" I belive, making the smallest rims needed 15"

Yeah I was worried about the front wheels. I was hoping someone knew because right now, it is like 3 deg outside............. stupid cold. No way I am going out there to change a tire around.

Aint going to work.

I just checked my 15's (running winter setup now) on the car and the fronts have less than 1/2" (closer to 1/4") of clearance between the caliper and the wheel, and you need at least 1/2" (1"/2 because im measuring radius not diameter) to clear.

you should just take them and sell them and then buy yourself a set of snows that fit.

my recommendation is to borrow one and try to mount it in the front...if it fits you are good...

I use a mercedes wheel as a spare and the only thing I needed was a hubcentering ring...

I have never heard of anyone running a 14" wheel on an A4, so I wouldn't get my hopes up...but it wont hurt to try...
