    ESP

Tonight was my first drive in the snow with my quattro. I was just driving around, or should i say playing, in the snow and messing with my ESP button. I know it stands for Electronic Stability Program, but when i push the button and get the light on my dash, shouldn't that turn it on? Cause i noticed with no light on my dash that the light would flash any time i started to lose grip and it would cut my power to my wheels. Also accelerating was easier and i would lose grip less because it would control how much power was going to my wheels.

But when i push the button and the light comes on, i would have assumed this means on . But i was able to spin my tires all i wanted and i stopped losing power to my wheels in slides and stuff. Is that backwards? Or is this normal. Does pushing the button and getting the symbol on my dash mean ESP off?

And on that note, when it wasn't cutting in anymore and i had the light on, it was so much easier to drive. ESP is the worst idea ever, unless you have FWD. Cause when i would engage in a slide the damn thing would cut my power and i would just keep sliding and it scared me a couple times cause there was nothing i could do. But with it off i could just give it gas and steer it and i was golden.

So needless to say, after some experimenting in a parking lot, i had it off my entire way home and i had some fun drifting corners at 20-30 mph in the snow .

you know i figured that much since it stopped cutting power, but i just wanted to make sure my car wasn't malfunctioning and the button was working in reverse or something.

I'm thinking about also removing the fuse for ABS like that other guy on here did haha. Cause i found that to be irritating as well. It's much too sensitive. I wouldn't even have the pedal all the way down and it would start to pulse on me and i would start to slide because of it. FFF'in electronics.
