Hey guys, I'm a new member to site and recently just bought a 2009 A5. I was just wondering, has anyone developed or produced an intake for this car yet or is there still a wait? Sorry if this thread is a re-post I didn't feel like sifting through 13 pages of threads. If so, can you provide any links... Thanks!

I know evolution motorsports (evoms.com) has an intake for the 3.2, but everyone will tell you that Audi's factory air box is the best one out there. The only real reason to buy an intake would be for the noise factor. Hope that helped.

    Re: Intakes?

They don't have one for the A5 particularly, however does the intake for the 3.2 A4 fit the same for the 3.2 A5?

Haven't heard about an intake yet specifically for the A5 but you could get the K&N replacement filter as a start:

    Re: Intakes?

There is an amazing intake system for this car. The STOCK one. Quiet, great flow characteristics, and.. you already have it!

Do we really think that if there were a few free horses or a few extra MPG hidden in there Audi wouldn't have found it? We have never seen improvements on the stock airboxes of any Audi and in many cases we've seen LESS power.

Spend your $ on parts that actually improve the car: Suspension, wheels+tires, brakes, exhaust, etc.

Why would a performance car company make parts that didn't improve your car?

    Re: Intakes?

yes yes.. it 'just so happens' that i work for a company that makes these cars perform much better! ;-)

these cars are very well engineered. it takes a tremendous amount of work to meaningfully improve a particular system. so we put the effort where it will give the best results.

Haha well they really do sell everything there is to improve the car the only thing missing is a supercharge :D. And the reason companies make intakes that may not improve the car is for the sound... Most wont negate performance with a heat shield properly set up though but that dampers the sound. Stick to the stock airbox it will be hard pressed for any company to make even a small improvement.
