    My Avant sprung a leak!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
When I go to spray the rear window with washer fluid, half goes on the window and the other half goes inside the car! It drips through the roof lining very close to the rear windshield, so some tubing must have cracked or become disconnected.

Does anyone have a write up or pictures of how to remove the small rectangular ceiling liner piece nearest the rear windshield. This must be an access point for the tubing to the rear windshield wiper.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

Hate to revive an old thread but I have a similar issue..I think the window itself is leaking though. it sounds like a river when I open the hatch

Re: My Avant sprung a leak!

First I ever heard of this happening to someone.

Did you check the high-mount brake light on the top of the rear lid? The high-mount light should not move at all in its slot. If it moves you have a clip that came loose.

Few years back, while washing my car I noticed mine was loose in the hole/slot it fits in. I ended up taking the rear inside trim off to get to it and found that I had one of the metal clips that hold it in it's slot come loose. If the high-mount light is the tiniest bit loose, it would be very easy for water to get inside the rear lid.

Take a look in the Avants only forum, I think someone posted an interior rear hatch removal DIY.
