Ok i park my car infront of my house...there is no no parking signs what so ever. i come out and my car is gone. The citywas doing snow removal so they decided to tow my car to the other block (pricks). i start yelling at the guy cause he towed he with my handbrake on, so basicaly he dragged it. There was alot of snow on the streets so the tires just slid. He said since it slid its not bad.

is this true? i dont hear any weird noises or problems from the car

    thanks

Re: Tow Truck Towed My Car With The Handbrake On

First of all, a quattro has to be towed on a flat bed. So, the e-brake being on may be the least of your worries. Your whole tranny could be fucked if he just towed the car by lifting one end up.

oh god, another towing horror story. I would get everything checked out at the dealer and or get reimbursed by the city.

If it slid then it shouldn't hurt anything except for tires I would think. Better that the handbrake was on in this circumstance.

Re: Tow Truck Towed My Car With The Handbrake On

Sorry to hear about them towing your ride. I am a tow driver and from experience it should not have hurt your transmission if it slid but I would still take it to the dealer because the city tow guys are notorious for hooking to your suspension and bending or breaking the lower control arms because there are no real tow points on the audis. BETTER TO KNOW NOTHING IS WRONG THEN HAVE SOMETHING COME UP LATER AND THE CITY SAYS TUFF!!

Re: Tow Truck Towed My Car With The Handbrake On

I'd say that it was def a good thing that your handbrake was on. Might have saved your diff. If the wheels didn't move, then you're fine. I would definitely follow up though.

    Tow truck drivers are ridiculous.

i did do a check up and they didnt see any problems.....

if its snowing in your area always put your handbrake on....i guess it saved me alot of headaches
