    Help diagnose an engine noise

    This happens when shutting off the car

    Engine noise ~8 seconds

    Timing belt job has not been doen yet. I plan on doing it in the next 3 weeks

    Yes, it's called your engine is not running anymore... Mine does the same thing so I'm guessing this is normal. But my timing belt hasn't been done yet either, and it's at 95k miles >:D

    Thank you for your contribution.... Now if anyone might be able to tell me what the NOISE at ~8 seconds is i'd appreciate it.

    I had my wife start, rev and shut down the car several times for me while i listened and the noise seems to come from the back of the engine. The sound is intermitted and is not apparent when starting running or revving the engine.

    I have had 2 suggestions: the cam chain tensioner and another that stated after changing out their clutch and adding a DTS their noise went away

    I plan on adding the snub mount when I do the timing belt and my clutch is in VERY early stages of slipping.

    Any other suggestions are welcomed.

    Does it sound like a clunking noise? I had a hard time hearing your sound clip. It most likely is your dual mass flywheel springs unloading.

    x2 ... i kinda heard it and my car does the same thing and i dont think theres anything we can do about it
