    big big problem with my 2.8..PLEASE help!!

    ok so my car burns a ton of oil..i mean i filled it up 3 quarts in 2000 miles.. i have 2 choices, one is get it check out and re due the pistons and rings...or choice 2 is to swap it with a new motor.. now i do like the 2.8 engine but id rather have the 1.8t... if its a dumb move please let me kno and give me some input of the situation.. thanks

    you will need a new wiring harness for the 1.8 also.... and yes its alot of money

    If you aren't up to doing a 2.7 then don't do the VR6 swap. Look on 4T for the 034 VR6T build for info.

    VR6 will cost more than an 2,7TT / 1,8T, in terms of conversion.

    It's not a direct, bolt-in and drive-away option.

    Both conversions are VERY tough. If you can't figure out why it's burning oil, I wouldn't recommend you DIY on a swap.
