Sooo, let's say, someone changed their fronts shocks a few months ago and forgot to load the suspension before the fully tightening the bolts. And let's saaay this person started hearing clunking noise about a week ago. Would this person be able to just changed their bushing instead of getting all new control arms. Here's an auction said person found on ebay for polyurethane bushings. Clicky Click

Re: Has anybody successfully changed their suspension bushings?

I replaced all of mine instead of buying control arms. Use sport suspension bushings. They were very easy to press in and out.

    Her are the part numbers

8D0 407 515 B need four of them, upper control arms
8E0 407 181 G need two of them, outer for lower wishbone links
8D0 407 182 G need two of them, inner for lower wishbone links
4D0 407 183 AB need two of them front guide links

This does not give you new ball joints however...in my opinion you should just replace each of the arms, they come with the new bushings pressed in and everything will be 100% perfect.

Here are the part numbers to replace all of the arms with the bushings in them

    8E0 407 505 C left front upper
    8E0 407 506 C right front upper
    8E0 407 509 C left rear upper
    8E0 407 510 C right rear upper
    8E0 407 151 M front wishbone link (need 2)
    8E0 407 693 Q left front guide link
    8E0 407 694 Q right front guide link

You should do tie rod ends while you are at it too.
