Exclamation For Dec '08 - Help us pick the Audizine Calendar cover shot!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Due to last month's Official Poll, we're going full steam ahead with our first ever Audizine Calendar! Oh and for those that voted for hats and beanies, don't worry they'll be coming early next year.

We were excited to receive an amazing amount of extraordinary photos, from AZ'ers all over the globe. The only not-so-exciting part turned out to be narrowing them down to only 12 finalists. We based these on not only the quality of images but model, year, color, and location. We tried to get a good broad range of all of these, which again, wasn't easy. So for those that didn't make it this time, don't be bummed. This has gone so well that we'll surely be doing it again next year. Next time though, we'll all have a lot more notice. Just be sure to keep those mods coming and the cameras snapping!

Due to the time constraints this poll won't be open long, so cast your vote now. We're aiming to get the calendar off to print this coming week (approximately around Wednesday December 17th) with first orders to begin shipping around Christmas. With the help of a handful of our Audizine Sponsors, we've been able to keep the retail cost of the calendars to $10 each plus postage. They'll be limited to a print run of 500 pieces, and when they're gone they're gone! Details on ordering will coming soon.

Congrats to the following 12 finalists, all of whom will be receiving Audizine thank you and congratulations gifts.

And now, in alphabetical order, on to the voting!

Why isn't the photo winner from the photo contest a choice with the r8 and a few other a4s? I think that was a great picture!

Personally, I think an R8 should grace the cover of the AZ calender. It's the ultimate Audi IMO.

That would have been cool, but unfortunately there weren't many R8 owners sending in worthy shots.

I'm assuming you're referring to Vinny, and I would agree with you that his car seems relatively stock to someone who doesn't know what they're looking at. But look at the picture. The setting is the pit of a race track, the angle is prime for a perfect composition and lets face it, the car is clean and perfectly OEM+. I personally think it is deserving of a place in the calendar.

Nice S6, for sure. I'm not real big on 5 doors, but the white A4 Avant is striking. (white photographs real nice, eh? check the S4, too)

    But ... the S5....

So my vote: the R8 for cover. These 12 are all good for the 12 months. Nice job, Anthony.

Any C5 guys submit anything? Post 'em here!

Most people anymore take photos for the web, and don't really think of shooting/editing for print. While that did limit things a bit, I don't feel that any of these photos are questionable at all. They're all downright amazing in their own right. Taken together as a whole they're a great representation of the worldwide Audizine Community. And as I said in my first post, for those that didn't make the final 12, please don't be discouraged as we'll be doing this again next year.

That'll be on the back of the calendar. We just felt this would be a great way for the overall community to get involved, since having them choose all 12 final shots would have a bit of a logistical nightmare...

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Not to sound like a dick to you "nsmith12" but having a good camera has nothing to do with skill. A person can have a 10k camera but if he doesnt know composition, angles, location it's just a bleh shot. There is some strong photos on here and hopefully my avant can grace the cover, but still thankful to make the cut to be in the calendar.

Sorry for the miscommunication here, what I meant was that I know you are a photographer and a good photographer at that, meaning you photo of your sick avant would be a great one! The fact that you have all the gears is just a point I was making.

Re: For Dec '08 - Help us pick the Audizine Calendar cover shot!

Actually, having a wicked camera no matter what your skill level definitely helps.

In time, you can learn how to get the best out of all it's features.

But if you begin with shiet, no matter how good your skills are, an average dude with a better camera will always have a head start (just by using the "auto" feature).

I think everyone should just chill out and enjoy the fact that all of the pictures are well done, regardless of who or what equipment was used.

Although, I'm surprised there isn't more winter scene shots...I saw one on a frozen lake, but that's it?

Any Alaskans out there who can take a shot of their Audis against the Aurora Borealis?

I personally think it is deserving of a place in the calendar.
Thanks for backing me, Guess not everyone digs my car. [yikes]
