    Oh Yeah....I Forgot....It's An Audi

Well i've had a power steering leak for a while and it progressively got worse (to the point of about a bottle a week). I finally decide to take it in to see what they have to do to fix it and to take a look at a somewhat important oil leak.

The dealership comes back saying I have to replace the rack & pinion and something around my valve cover is leaking. The total? $2,000 or there abouts to fix.

Well I pick it up and take it to my friends shop and he said he found a rack and pinion out of a low mileage 03 A4 thats been rear ended for $400 (1/2 the price of the cheapest rack & pinion that he could find). He's gonna do that but it'll probably still be $1200+

ALSO the stealership TOOK A CHUNK OUT OF MY KEY where you pry it open. I called them and said they had no reason to take apart my key and I expect them to rectify this even though the damage is cosmetic. he said that whenever i get my car out of the other shop to bring the car and key to him and he'll "see what he can do"

    ugh bullshit.

Audi service sux. I told the guy my fuel pump was dying and i would not even be able to make it home he said that the soonest he can do it was next week.

People say Mercedes Service sux i think not compared to Audi, basically if u don't have warranty don't take it to the dealer.

I have great relations with the sales, service, and parts department at my local dealership - not that I use the service department much considering I try to do all the services myself.

Audi service can kiss my ass. A car without good service is to me like a stripper with full clothing ON --> whats the fucking point??

And they charge like they are repairing things that no other human being can fix...BS.

The torque converter and oil pump went out on my wife's Acura MDX with 500 miles left on the factory warranty. I couldn't believe how awesome their service was. From the first time I called them to the day I picked it up - 2 days. $3000 worth of repairs completely covered.

I love our Audi Service department! Probably the best service in my area when compared with other dealers such as MB, BMW, Acura, Infiniti, and even Lexus.

    ugh bullshit.

it is normal for valve cover gasket to start leaking after 5 years of use.

it is under $350 bucks job in local shops.

    just some reference.
My friend's 2004 Honda accord's rack & pinion started to make noise and the honda dealership quote "$1300" for this (parts&labour).

    good luck man!

Very weird, I just took mine in yesterday for a power steering leak. They quoted me 1400 for a new rack and pinion and 1300 for a new heater core due to a heating problem. I was in shock when they called me.
