Has anyone removed their "chrome" window trim from the car. Looking to either trade it out with black or paint mine, but have not been able to find any help on getting it off first. Thanks.

Re: How to remove window trim

hey man i did this with my bmw, it was not to bad to take the window trim off but very easy to bend it.

that said i actually taped off my whole car and painted the trim, and it worked great...i was scared at first but no chipping at all...just a thought, i believe i heard that you have to do some window manipulation.

Re: How to remove window trim

like manhattan said. it is very easy to bend. originally when i bought the car it has acid rain spots which were really bad. AOA covered it, but instead of going back and forth to have it installed i tried to do it myself. when i got the part, it was only the aluminum strip which just attaches like with a sticky substance. i messed it up big time b/c its so darn fragile. they were nice enough to send me another part, but this time the trim was attached to a whole separate piece which seems like the door panel is going to have to be removed. not sure what i'm going to do now.
