Fellow A6 owner new to AZ. Just saying Hi.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

I just wanted to say hi to you all. I am new to AZ but not new to Audis. I am on my second A6 but before that it was VW, mostly scirocco's. My current Audi is a 2000 2.7, stasis 6MT, stage 3-. Going full stage 3 come spring. This car has drained me but it still seems to put a smile on my face each and every time I drive it. I live in N NJ and frequent the 1/4 track in the spring-fall. best time 13.4 107mph. thats with bad launch(crappy 60') I got dynoed at waterfest 14 it was 100+ out and they had NO fan on my car. it almost overheated ( I made them take it off once I noticed how poor the set up was) 1st pass was the best 329 whp 352 TQ.

When it was time to choose a car (audi) I chose the C5 A6 because I feel that there are too many B5 S4's out there and I like to be a little different. I know I know its silver.

I do most of my own work and I have had the headaches that come along with owning a bi-turbo C5. I have changed out my Aux coolant pump twice. After the second one it was discovered it was the O-ring that went into the block that was bad so off comes the manifold again. I have done suspension,CV's, you name it.

I hope that some of what I know can help someone one day. I know if it wasn't for on-line forums I wouldn't have done as much work on my own.

I am learning this new format so bare with me.

as seen in the readers rides section of Eurotuner Dec '08

Yes i know my car sits low. I have bilstein shocks w/ H&R sport springs. I think my front shocks are shot. I am putting in OEM for the winter and come spring coils. Right now its like a plow in the winter.

Bumper is also mis-aligned due to my huge RS6 IC's I have in there. Too big for the bumper. Another spring project is make it work.

    I'll tell you right now though I am a GO'er more than a Show'er.

    Eddie

    Mod list:

The last time I ordered summer/track type tires I had my camaro. I wasn't thinking too clearly when i ordered from tirerack but I like them now. I had to roll my fenders a little b/c of the aggresive stance. with coils it should be fine.

    Another look.

    Welcome.
I'm pretty new myself, but heading in the direction you're at right now.
Also a do-er and a go-er, although I like some showy stuff, too.
I have a 2000 silver 2.7. Glad to have you here.

Looks like we have just about the same car. Is yours 6-speed? If you have any questions when its time to go in that direction let me know.

One of my worst nightmares was last spring. LWFW/CM stage 4 clutch. Never held. I had to pay for 2 trans pulls b/c I had no where to do the work. ( nasty family divorce where my garage was =(

I see you have a SRT-4. Last time I raced on when I had KO3's he got me

    Yea its pretty easy actually.

I rented a heat gun from a rental place $15.00. Came right apart. I had to re-do it again b/c some water was getting in so I re-melted it and put some fresh sealant on.

I'm not a fan of Clutchmaster, so I went with the Vast Stage 3. We'll see.
Yes, my car is a 6-speed. I had a hell of a time finding one, everyone seemed to have a tip.

On slicks my SRT-4 could take on a lot of the cars here. Currently puts 450 to the wheels on 24 psi with race gas. I don't push it any harder than that due to being on the stock block. However, that also leads to "spin" issues when not on slicks, which was part of my reasoning in going with the Audi. AWD should help a lot.

I think there's 5 SRT-4's in the 10's now. The very first one was my friend Chris here in Arizona. My best was a 13.0 @ 120 on drag radials

I know I suck, and I've come to terms with it. "Feathering" is not in my vocabulary.
