B8 Manual Tranny Update

Anyone have any actual detailed info on when the 6 speed is coming to the B8 A4?

I'm told should be showing up my March '09. At least that's when mine will be here.

The manual is 'available' for order now, so March sounds about right for stock units to start showing up as well.....

The order guide reads $1200 MSRP difference, but "TBD" for invoice. I've heard there might be a price difference in January so my salesman says he can't tell me what the car will cost...

I got my actual cost, the only difference is the programs for lease and buy, so the payments will be different.

I'm assuming that you mean the automatic will be $1,200 more than the manual correct? I know that may be a dumb question, but I'd just like to make sure. I'm going to give a call to the Audi dealer today and see if orders can be placed for a B8 A4 in manual. Does anyone know where I can find the invoice pricing of for the B8 A4's?

The MSRP is 6MT Premium is 31850, last I new the Tiptronic premium was 32,700 then the standard +4k for PP, and +7.3k for Prestige.

The order guide I saw before this release came out showed the 6MT at 31500 but TBD for invoice -- this is where I got the $1200 difference. Now the 6MT is $350 more, but rumor was that all cars were going up at the fist of the year. As of today -- Audiusa still has the tip premium listed at 32700.

Dude, the Frontrack is a CVT transmission, that means its belt driven... no gears to shift... just for future reference

^^Wrong, FrontTrak is different than CVT. FrontTrak is what Audi calls FWD regardless of manual or CVT.
CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) is an automatic transmission that Audi has been using in their FrontTrak automatic (multitronic) cars since the 2002 MY in the A4.
Audi had originally said that B8 manuals can only be had with FrontTrak A4's, now we're just waiting on word from Audi if they will give us Quattro with manual transmission.
Come on Audi, stop dickin' us around.

The CVT is 2.0T/Frontrack only, the 6MT is 2.0T/Quattro only. If you want the 3.2 V6 or an Avant, you get the tiptronic AT.

2009 A4 2.0T Sedan MT6 base price is $31,850 vs $33,050 for AT6. All options and pricing are the same for both transmissions. You should start seeing them at your local Audi dealer the first week of May. You may place orders for the MT6 now or possibly even change the specs on one of your dealers inbound stock.

ah good to hear, i stopped caring after the initial "no quattro+6spd" news from audi.
now they just need to hurry up and start selling them so I can pick up a used one in a year

they will be on US soil by the end of february, most of the first ones are ordered cars but by the end of march you could get one easily...

The original plan was to have a FrontTrak + 6spd or Tiptronic setup only for the B8's (not including quattro of course). I didn't state that they weren't going to give us 6spd + quattro. Like I said, I stopped caring after initial word, but now that I know they're decided to change their plans yet again, I'd consider purchasing one.
