    Launch Control

    Hey guys,
Just picked up an 06 2.0T DSG yesterday and been having a bit of fun with the launch control. I don't know if it is operating properly though and am seeking some advice.

According to the owners manual, it is supposed to sit at around 3200 RPM but when I do it, it won't rev higher than 2500 RPM.

My mate has a MK5 GTI and his revs properly up to 3200 RPM and absolutely destroys me off the line.

I am following the owners manual exactly, by disengaging Traction Control, putting it in Sport and holding the brake and the accelerator but it just wont rev higher than 2500 RPM resulting in a really sluggish take off before the revs get higher.

    Any thoughts?

Sorry, I'm from Australia and yes, launch control is standard on DSG, even in 06.

    Re: Launch Control

If you want to hold at a higher RPM, get the HPA DSG flash.

For all the rest of us NA drivers, there's the HPA flash to enable LC which I'm still skeptical without changing the TCU. Or there's always the trusty "secret" ghetto LC.

Do we know if the O7 model has this feature? I could not find it mentioned in the manual, is the proceedure above correct?

    Re: Launch Control

If its not in the manual, its probably not on the car. My 09 DOES have this in the manual, and it does work.

I thought the 08's have it but I have not had an opportunity to try it out on my car yet.
