Just got pulled over going 105 in a 55, and didnt get arrested or my car impounded... I did get a $450 ticket though.

I got pulled over by 7 cop cars and a K-9 unit, and got let go!!!! Now I have court date on the 30th of the month... Any ideas of what I should say to the judge?

i was pulled over going 80 in a 55 at a local highway here around 2am this one night, and a cop in a chevy tahoe was right on my ass for a good minute or two w/o me knowing. then out of no where he flashes his lights pulls me over and asks if i knew how fast i was going? my excuse was that i said i had a heavy foot when i drive and had no intentions of trying to drive fast and was just getting home from a friend's house(that last part is true). Cop said he appreciated my honesty and let me go by telling me to drive the speed limit the next time LOL..

yeah 129 in 50 here, on my R1 the officer was very reasonable wrote me for straight speed, no wreckless, $5XX.XX and 5 points though, had the option to prepay should have, got a lawyer and it came out essentially a wash.... if you can prepay avoid the court scene unless you want to hear people gasp when they read your charge....

Actually, the judges don't care. The punishment is the punishment. You'll bargain with the prosecutor and pay for what you did.

Thats because they didn't use their radar, they just paced you to record how fast you were going.

dang thats awesome that you didnt get arrested or shit. I got pulled doing 153 in a 55 and the cop just asked me to pay him $300 (cash) and then asked if i was in a hurry and i was. i was trying to get to a basketball state tournament.

but same deal, just got a fine and let go with a ticket and court fees. no arrest or impound...

EDIT: that was when i was young and stupid. ive changed my ways

Well I guess that makes me lucky as well. I got pulled over doing 109 on I-5 from S.F. to L.A. and was let go with a warning, (he said if it was me I needed to slow down)

The cop hit me from the other direction with the radar and when I saw him stop to turn around I just kept going for about 5-10 minutes and by the time he caught up to me I was doing 75 in the slow lane when he pulled me over. After he ran all my stuff and thoroughly checked the car, (1998 Acura Inegra 2-door lowered) he let me off because he said he could not prove it was me.

Coming back from Ohio to PA, It was me and my buddy in our car we build(g35TT) Got pulled over doing 156 in a 55. He made us get out of the car put our hands on the hood, patted us down. Screamed at us for a couple min, then told said "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY STATE!"

I was going 120 in a 65 my radar went off so i slowed down, like 20 miles later i got pulled over and had no idea why. i thought it was for going 80 at the time and when the cop told me it was 109 i was shocked i saw no cops when it happened until i got pulled over. it must have been some hidden radar somewhere i still dont really know how it happened. I got kinda lucky though the cop didnt mark it as reckless driving so it was just a misdemeanor not a felony. i still would have had 11 points which is a suspended license in ny so i hired a lawyer. all in all i ended up having to pay close to 900 dollars and still have 4 points on my license.

What should you do? KEEP your mouth SHUT, hire a good lawyer, and expect the worst. You might not get as lucky in court, but opening your mouth will only make matters worse.

But yeah Im thinking of just paying the ticket before and not even going to the court date. Otherwise the judge is just gonna make it worse.

Here in Canada, if you're caught going 50 over the speed limit it’s considered "street racing". The police automatically take you're car, give you a fine up to $10 000 and I believe they suspend you're license.

Dont laugh just try it! Not saying the cop will even take them, but if you can get him to laugh that half the battle...

i got pulled over going 75 in a 45 a few months ago.. cop didnt give me a ticket at the moment but made me go to traffic court- 30 mph or more over the limit, traffic court is mandatory here in florida. Judge ordered me to do 12 hours of traffic school ($100) and pay court costs of $360. However she did withhold the points since i had a good driving record. But still.. $460 later.. i drive a lot slower now.

I almost got bagged for doing 155+.....the officer was in between tress and both sides of the highway (directions)....he pulled out and put his lights on, but then slowed down and turned his lights off (I was probably way too far away by then)

It's 50km/h over which is only really 30mph over the limit. Around 95mph is enough to qualify you for:

- Instant roadside impound - they take tow your car before you even have a chance to defend yourself in court
- Instant license suspension - same deal as above
- Up to $10000 fine if convicted (minimum fine: $2000)

Call the court and ask. Thats the best way. There should be notes on the back for you

Again get a lawyer. pay the law fees, get out with no points. Your insurance is going to jump. and not drop for many years, which will more than double the cost of getting out of it with a lawyer. Trust me I learned the hard way. Now I have a lawyer that charges 100 for the ticket work plus any court fees attached to the ticket meaning the cost of the ticket usually. don't pay the ticket......might be a little bit of hassle, but you should be ok with that since you did take the risk of driving that fast lol. Not that I don't because lord knows I'm guilty of it every now and again.
