    GIAC chip question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have 2000 B5 S4 Stage 2. I bought the car a year ago so I can't say who did the tuning, but it was done 6 years ago in USA and it was done using GIAC chip.

I noticed my pulls are not that smooth, which is annoying sometimes while driving harder. I guess there are firmware updates (or software updates?) for these chips which should make car drive smoother. Since I live in Montenegro, Europe, and there are no GIAC representatives anywhere in 1.000 miles area, I was wondering if there was any other way to update firmware? Is there any tool which could be used? I have VAG-COM. Could it be done through it and some software?

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Thank you!

Try contacting GIAC directly and see what they say.

I did but they never responded... I'll be more persistent if I don't find an answer here, on AZ.

I have a flashloader with a network cable plug to hook up to a laptop and I figure if they could send you the software via internet and you had the GIAC flashloader you could theoretically do it.

Also do you know if its a chip or of its flashed? That might make a difference on what they can do for you via the net.

I'm quite sure it's chipped because I have another small chip laying around.
