have you guys heard of the recent news of one s2000 taking it to 240km/h while recording himself driving? I don't know man, a lot of people do that... s2000 is light... and i definitely don't want to drive with only one hand while going @ speed like that~and to me... if you know your own limit... and nobody else's around... go enjoy(definitely not in the city though... at least like on some freeway or the sort)... but I think this "Vancouver Ts" group is a joke... probably not all the members... just the founder... freddy... check this out

interesting. Whatever they do its pretty impossible to eliminate "street" racing. There will always be a group out there willing to put everything at risk. Either increase the penalties or build a local track to encourage them to take it off the streets although i doubt it will happen.

Wow this video is a buncha crap, cops have nothing better to do then surf youtube and look at street racing video's, whoever watched those video's can defenatly tell that there was NOONE around and the only harm you would do is to yourself. Cops gotta find something more productive to do like catch the real problem. 240 really isint that fast, even a dodge caravan can hit those speeds if there was a long enough straight with no cars.

no thank you, i'd rather not have my car crushed and my license stripped for life for going 140 on the freeway.

anyway, i love how the media likes to misconstrue the truth, he went 240 on a back road somewhere, not in metro Vancouver. you would crash your car long before you would reach 240 attempting that speed in Vancouver.

I think they should get in trouble for their actions, those piss boxes they are driving are accidents waiting to happen, street racing almost guarantees it will happen.

Too bad their wasn't a an empty airstrip or facility (eg. such as Pitt Meadows airport) that could be rented out where people could drive their cars all out at their own risk (kind of like the M5 Board events that take place in Sweden). That way, you get less street racing on the streets, and less innocent people getting in the way. Probably go a long way towards solving some of the problem. Whoever hosts or sets up an event could charge money at the gate and turn this into a worthwhile venture. I bet the cops could generate half of what they collect in traffic fines hosting mulitiple events during the spring and summer months.

Some of the local airstrips are over a mile long...more than enough room to top out and come to a stop.

yes the car would be obliterated.. and so would the driver.. so thats you and your car, responsible for your own actions and the way you want to live your life.. therefore its all in your hands and your putting noone else at stake, exept yourself.Also there is the whole "if" factor there what "if" pigs would fly ? would there be a lot more detailers in the world ?

The police actually hosted a drag race event at boundary bay a couple years ago to try and curb street racing, But it was shut down because of noise complaints i believe.
The police actually got alot of complaints of street racing happening at boundary bay even though there was always a police officer liaison there at every event.

Its tough, the cops want to keep the streets safe, they realize street racing happens because of the lack of racing venues in the lower mainland, and whenever they try to do something about it theres an overwhelming outcry against whatever they try to do.

Yup, ive even goe to the the port moody Mayer about it. A while back, he wanted to hear my street racing input. So i went into his office had a chatt with him. In the end....nothing.. they dont care about it so fuck em its always going to happen.
