Occassional start issues, need to stomp stomp stomp to start the car...

Every once in a rare occasion my car will not crank at all. Usually this will happen when I have someone in my car, such as a date.

I will have to stomp the clutch and try to start a few times. Sometimes it starts after 4-5 attempts, sometimes longer.

It doesn't crank though, and then one magical time it will crank and start perfectly fine. I dont know if this is an issue related to the switch the clutch presses to allow you to start the car, or if its another issue.

Ive just solved it so far by stomping the hell out of the clutch and multiple attempts to start the car. Any ideas?

i actually just changed the alternator a couple months ago as well. Still with the same issue. Did it go away once you changed your alternator?

Maybe your clutch pedal switch/sensor is going bad or sticking. It's a switch that senses when the clutch pedal is pressed.

maybe it doesn't have anything to do with the clutch? sounds like it could be a faulty starter.

sounds like a clutch switch to me.

i replaced it in my car, but ive heard you can just connect the wires to close the circuit with no issues
