So i just cleaned my maf... (pics)

A couple days ago i installed a cone filter & heatshield that i got in the classifieds. The previous owner of my car put an oily-ass K&N filter in there and i figured it would probably be a good idea to get rid of it. So today i decided to clean my maf for probably the first time ever. I took the sensor out of the housing and sprayed the shit out of it with the CRC maf cleaner. I let it dry, and put it back in. It didn't make a difference at all, but i guess it's good that i did it.

But when i was cleaning it i noticed something, there were lots of specks of dirt that wouldn't come off no matter how much cleaner i sprayed on it, and the gel-like surface had a huge crater in it. Does it look like it needs to be replaced? I've been trying to figure out why i've only been hitting 15 psi on GIAC software, i have no boost leaks and a brand new n75h so after ruling those out i wanted to check the maf. Would you get a new one if you were me?

i was considering that, since i also wanted to log my throttle angle at wot, whatever block that is.

i don't have any vag com experience though, could i just use one of the handheld readers for this, or do i need the version that uses a usb cable + the $300 software?

almost 127k.... they definitely aren't cheap and i really hope there will be a tangible improvement if i spend the 200+ bucks for a new one. it's old and it looks pretty fucked up, but my idle is still really smooth so i am hoping i can get a few more miles out of the current one.

i was under the impression that the giac file was 1.3 bar. it seems like a lot of guys around here are hitting 18-20psi on a chipped K03, or else i'm trippin

but i took the car out for a 2 hour highway run today, and i was spiking to 17ish instead of 15 so i guess cleaning the maf helped a little. i definitely felt a small difference at wot.
