Engine is skipping but showing no codes WTF?

My engine to started run irradically but shows no codes. When im driving it feels like im running on rumble strips. Dont feel a loss in power but it shakes like theres in inbalance in the engine. It happened two days ago for about 50 miles now its back. Any suggestions?

How does the engine run when you are in neutral and rev it?

Does Audi use an external balancer of some sort on that engine, that could be slipping or loose?

So it's probably not the motor mounts or anything in the trans or diff. You can check the mounts by:

opening the hood and have somebody stand off to the side.

With the car started, put it in gear, apply the brake, and step on the gas while the brake is being applied.

If you see the motor shift positions, then you probably have a bad mount or several.

As I mentioned, I don't think that your mounts are bad but it's worth doing to eliminate this possible cause.

Does the car have full power or does it feel like it's running on 7?
