Whaaa??? A little loss of power?

So my car was pretty much stock. Its a 99.5 1.8tqm.

Its got the cone intake (was there when I got it) and a super shitty heatshield. I'll be gettin the good one soon.

It was running good. Then about a week ago I got the MTM stage 1 chip. It drove amazing! It was super fast. The throttle response was great too!

Then recently, I noticed a little drop in power. It still drives fast, it just seems like it takes more to get it going, and its just not as fast of a response. For example, I drive exactly the same, and I killed it twice now because it takes more gas to get goin... Could it be because of my stock diverter couldnt handle it? Or because my intake? Too much hot air in it?

Once I get above 3k, the turbo does still kick in hard, just not the same as a few days ago... :(

I mean it could be just that I got used to the car, and just want more power, but I just want to see if anyone has run into this?

I think I ran into the same thing on my A6. When I first got it I was like woooaah this is sick but now I'm pretty used to it. I'm going to set it back to stock for a week when it gets super cold in PA and then when its a little warmer set it back and see if it feels the same again.

Haha wow looks like were all getting into this...

I just recently got the Full synthetic oil change. I also put premium at the good gas stations too! I make sure to stay away from shitty small ones...

Those of you that have had this, do you guys have an upgraded diverter valve?

Keep your car happy. You should have upgraded the dv before you even got chipped. I did that along with plugs (the ones I chose do not need gapping, so it was ok) and did the dv maybe a week before getting my ECU flashed. But yeah, def get a new dv. That could be your issue as you might be loosing pressure there if it is defective. I also only run the good stuff in my car. Amsoil 0w30 currently and will switch to 5w40 european formula when the summer is back. Ran the Lucus injector cleaner, changed my filters, have fresh plugs in, etc.

My advice is to get an upgraded dv (I run with the Forge 007 w/yellow spring). I would not be suprised if you ripped your stock one already. Do you have a boost gauge? And if so, how much psi you spike at? And if you don't have a boost gauge, you should def invest in one very soon.

    Ok thanks!
Yeah I am about to order a diverter valve, and I have a boost gauge on the way. Should be here mid next week...!

    Hopefully that will help!
