Hi all,
I am hoping to get some advise from the knowledgeable members out there.
I have recently bought an Audi with a factory fitted RNS E
(I am also in Australia)
I can not upgrade the software to a later version than the original disk that the car was supplied with. The unit seems to have locked the firmware updates from being allowed.
When i go to version info in NAV it gives me X---
I have taken it to Audi and they have told me that possibly the previous owner inserted a pirate copy of a disk and due to the disk not having all the required files it has locked the unit which prevents a firmware update from a later disk.
I have managed to get into the 'engineering' section of the software where apparently on the later model RNS E systems there is an option of reset. There does not appear to be a way of resetting the unit from this area.
This information is from the Version screen in the engineering section
HW index: H44 (I guess this is the hardware version)
HU/NAVI SW version V239000C
Boot Version V220200D
Serial No: AUZBZ7D0006029
Presumably this has happened to Audi owners in the past, and i guess there is a way of resetting the unit.
If anyone can assist i would be happy to hear from you
thanks
