MY glove box compartment does not open???

I know the glove box in general on these cars is a commonly broken part. I bet there is a DIY to fix it around here if you can get it open.

I hit it a couple of times but the handle does not seem to be catching anything.

i have the same problem, the latch pushes back but does not open, and its like 400 bucks for a new one (retarded) i tried finding DIY on google but all that came up was the swinger arms on the bottom.

Maybe unhook the side hinge and see if you can move it around and get it to let go. You can get to the side hinge by the panel where it touches the door when it closes.

IS there a lock where the latch is? would i be braking it if i force it open after messing with the side hatch thing you talk of?

If you take off the side hinge, you should be able to wiggle the little metal piece out of where it goes into the dash.

take the pins off of the bottom of the door. THen wiggle the door gently and it should come free put the pins back in? Did you buy the hinge fix from me?

i have an 02 and the glove box still works great...like said above, undo the screws and try wiggling it loose, either that, or take ur shoe to it and kick the crap out of it (just kidding) good luck
