I recently removed my speakers and have them in my dining room. When I get home I'll check to see what's on them and get back to you later today.

An alternative that works for replacing these two Front Bose 4" speakers are Infinity 4022i. They were the only 2 ohm speakers I could find. I paid approximately $114 with a three or four year warranty from BestBuy. Can't go wrong. Install is a little tricky, but you can mount them to the stock ring, with rubber trim. Search and you will find a very basic DIY.

I dont think it would be worth trying to get them to warranty them. $50 for new polks or similar and they are actual quality speakers.

Im gonna say its probably not worth your time or the hassle with it. Just grab a set of Polks for $50 and replace both front speakers and be done with it and have better quality speakers.

yeah, my driver side midrange (lower) speaker is gone, but only on certain midranges like when it's playing a song it's not as noticeable as like when the song stops and they never stop talking on the radio. I'm probably going to end up upgrading it all.

Re: Anyone have a pass. front lower bose speaker handy?

Does anyone know which model Polks are needed for the front speakers? Model #'s? Or where i can purchase them. I've had a blown speaker for about 9 months now and it's quite annoying. Time to get off my lazy ass and replace them. Thanks!

Re: Anyone have a pass. front lower bose speaker handy?

I searched and searched, however could not figure out which polk model worked with the stock Bose system. Fortunately, I came across the infinity 4022i reference series speaker. It's not exactly $50 bucks, but it is a true ~2ohm speaker. I replaced both my front speakers and they work great. I did a basic write up a couple weeks ago.

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=248318

    Check the link.

In my opinion the install was not too difficult and the sound is great.

Re: Anyone have a pass. front lower bose speaker handy?

So my question is about the stock tweaters. In the link, the last guy seems to think it would work fine with both connected. Anyone else have thoughts on this? I think I might go with either the infinities or the Polk if we can find out which ones. I've already replaced the Bose door speakers once and would rather try a different route this time.....too expensive for them to keep going out.

Now, can anyone explain to me why the Bose speakers seem to sound shittier when it is cold outside. Once my speaker warms up it sounds better, what's up with that? Also found that I have the rattling in one of my rear speakers as well. Pulled it apart and sure enough it's starting to separate.

Re: Anyone have a pass. front lower bose speaker handy?

I agree the Bose speakers aren't the best, but its great for stock so.....anyways. I emailed Bose customer service and told them of the crappy buzzing sound in my speakers, and how it was a common problem with the Audi B5. I simply offered my opinion of their car audio, and they asked for the part number, and are sending a brand new one. It took me 5 minutes and 0 dollars to write that email....Audi would not have been so kind...

The Kappa's are a higher end model. In my opinion i think they will require too much power to get the best output. They also cost much more than the reference series that I installed. Overall my opinion is that the reference is the perfect price and power match to the factory Bose unit.

Oh god, my drivers side does the same thing. AM talk radio is nothing but buzzing but when I crank it up under music it sounds fine. I think I will go ahead and get these 4022i's for $55 on ebay free shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/INFINITY-4022I-4...%3A1|294%3A200
