Custom exhaust system

I am looking into putting a exahaust on my 04 A8. The guy I went to want to remove the center muffler and put straight pipe. What is the center muffler for and will it make my car louder on the inside. I dont want it loud in the inside. Still deciding on what mufflers to choice. The guy keep trying to offer me flowmaster. I dont want flowmasters on my car.

I don't have an A8 but on my 2004 S4 I have Magnaflow mufflers and they sound great. You might consider them instead of the Flowmaster.

I was thinking about doing magnaflows. Are there different types of magnaflows?

They have universal mufflers so you would have to get the correct one.
But I have the oval polished muffler.

super sprint and check you tube for exhaust sound clips,should give you a good idea.

Hello,

Do you have any sound clips by chance? I have been searching for a clip of your setup and have had no luck. How much were the mufflers if you don't mind me asking? I take it that the tips are also changed?

I do not have a sound clip, but I will see if I can get you one. I got the exhaust from a friend who took it off his S4 so I do not know what he paid for it.
