Help ! Backup system light came on !

Hi guys ! i need some advise. The backup system light for the transmission came on for my B5 (P.R.N.D.3.2.1 light all came on on the dash) i did a shut down on my engine and restart, its back to normal. according to the manual it says need to bring the car to the dealer. may i know whats the problem ? screwed gear box ? and i realise sometime when i turn on the power while waiting for the beeping sound all this lights came on and sometimes don't ! but once i start the engine its all back to normal..... pls kindly help.....

You can check the TCU for water damage/corrosion to the connector, you can check the connector on the trans for corrosion.

remove passenger kickpannel and lower inside door molding

pull up carpet

It's located in a plastic box under the passenger's feet.
