My key fob doesn't fold right and is busted anyways:

My friend randomly gave me a new key fob lol and it has its own blade that has been pre-cut can i program it to work this way or do i need to punch my blade off the broken fob?

Well #1...you cant use it...because first it would have to have a New immobilizer (which is a chip inside) so it can be programmed on your car. then you would have to get a fresh UN-CUT blade. you cant just take any blade and use it on any car. go to Audi buy the blade and have it cut by them so it can fit your car. if any body could take any key and program it and could use it on any car..your car would of been hi-jacked by now..

Seeing people having done the B7 key fob mod, this should be no different. You do need a vag-com to program the new key to your immobilizer IIRC, the transponder chip from the old key (to put into the new key fob) and the original key blade to put onto the new fob. Search for the B7 key thread and there are instructions in there.

if you are pulling the chip from the old FOB and putting it into the new one no vag programming is necessary to make it start your car, your just putting your chip and blade in a different plastic housing. you might however need vag to help code the door lock buttons to your car.

Hmm, makes sense. I just remember reading something about vag-com and the immo. I know you need vag-com for something
