update 2 years later. still have larger turbo ambitions but more focused on rods pistons and precision ceramic. currently have rebuilt k03s chipped with stock exhaust and tp. i recently had a compressor clutch failure so i removed the compressor and inturn, the reciever drier and restrictor and tubing to evap housing. since anll the stuff that was previously in the way is now out of the way... i installed a b7 style dsmic with custom piping and shroud. still need to pick up s4 fender liners and ultimately an s4 front bumper but then might have bt/bat and might as well go front mount. i had to fix a boost leak and am currently running with maf unplugged but installed with stock tip. system is holding chipped requested boost and the 710n routed as dv is agressive as hell. just looking for funds for larger turbo and exhaust. enjoying my new winterized setup: dsmic with 260 cabin cooling. hoping for iat logs and pictures soon. might even make a diy if theres interest as its fairly easy on the 2001 awm engine.

I want to upgrade to rods and pistons (JE, AEB, AMU/BEA???) later, and would like to run a safe tune until then. are the 225tt pistons compatible? I believe they are forged, and lower CR; but not sure about pin size.
My ultimate goal would be to install in 1 day, and be able to drive 40 miles to get it tuned the next day. i have access to an electric lift, and all necessary tools and experience (3 year audi tech, several turbo and engine replacements). are my goals set too high? Any and all input is welcome. Thanks all, and Happy Holidays!!
