    Re: Trouble deciding on wheels...

Do you want blinging chrome black or stealthy looking. It is a matter of preference. Just remember the matte finish is a tad more durable. What other exterior mods do you have to go with the wheels? Post pics?

This will be my first real mod besides debagding and tint. I don't know which one will look better even after looking at many pictures, and really dont want to be disappointed. All the input I can get will really help. Thanks

The onyx is suppose to flake pretty easily, I'd go with gunmetal.

I don't think VMR offers the rs4 rep in matte black. Just hypersilver, gunmetal, and onyx. Unless the OP was planning on custom painting it.

I also vote Gunmetal. You need a secondary color besides just the black on black. Unless you want to be like some 50 cent rollinz muuurrrrdddaaaa

I'd definitely go Matte black. If you're on stock suspension, that may be something you want to address before getting wheels. VMR RS4 reps may look awkward with a lot of wheel gap. If you're on sport suspension, it should be alright though.

    Re: Trouble deciding on wheels...

This really depends on what look you want.

The gunmetal will be readily available. However, for the matte black, we won't have any more after our current stock (1 set left) sells out until a few months from now.

    :-)

This thread may make me reconsider the onyx black. I didn't realize there was a problem with flaking.

I may have to consider GM or MB.

Our Onyx Black does not suffer from any flaking issues. However, no wheel is immune to rock chips and/or any other foreign object striking it.

^(my comment comes from a non VMR third party) but I think that their older batch flaked somewhat and they corrected it with an "update" to the finish. Therefore they aren't in nearly as much danger of flaking this time around.

    Re: Trouble deciding on wheels...

To clarify, we have had to warranty some Onyx Black wheels in the past, but I can't even remember when the last time it was done. However, it wasn't in the ballpark of a "batch" of wheels. Regardless, our past customers can attest to the after-sale customer service that we provide, including warranty claims.

Anyways, I don't want to take away from the original topic of color decision.

Sounds like more people have recommended Matte Black even though it wasn't one of the choices :)
