    Question Fog Light Grilles

I've noticed that on some A4's, the fog light grilles have an opening on the back end and on others, they're like closed. I dont really know how to explain it but does anybody know why?

    Re: Fog Light Grilles

The US B6 came with a single side mount intercooler on the driver side, hence the open grill. The Euro B6 had a DSMIC option so they had open grills on both sides. People that upgrade to DSMIC normally buy an open grill for the passenger side.
How to account for this massive success? Pure luck? Transcendental meditation? Machiavellian manipulation? Aerodynamics? High colonics? We haven't the slightest idea. -P.L. Newman

I just grinded out the backside the whole way across and made the whole thing open mesh; even the part on the outside of the foglight opening. Pretty easy to do.

    +1 to that.
I did the same exact thing with a dremel. Not only does the front now match side-to-side, but the hot side of my FMIC now has cool air directly contacting the inlet pipe (hey every little bit helps ).
