    Re: Stage 1+

Where in FL are you? Do you have big turbo plans? If so, I hear REVO is the way to go. I went with APR because of what I learned. Also, I don't think I'm going to go past 1+.

When you rickroll someone the name of the song and the artist shouldn't be in the title of the youtube video :).

Anyways. Definitely do your research and you are also lucky to have that many shops near you. I ultimately had to go for a GIAC chip as AWE-Tuning is 20 minutes away from my house.

    Re: Stage 1+

IMO If you don't ever, ever, ever plan on going past 1+ either one will be just fine. Maybe you could pit each shop against each other to get a deal out of it .
If there is even a little possibility of you ever going past 1+/K04 then go REVO (say if your turbo fails, you want more power, you win the lottery, etc).
APR has their Stage 3 kit, but personally it is way overpriced and they don't really support the wide selection of big-to-huge turbos that REVO supports. As far as I'm aware GIAC dosen't really support BT's as well.

Check out Greg's (400HPA4) thread on his eliminator turbo with REVO software. From the looks of it thus far EuroCode tuning and REVO seem to be breaking new boundaries and raising the bar compared to other tuning/software.

Although I have REVO 1+ I'm not trying to be biased here or anything...just stating why I got REVO. As a side note EuroCode tuning still does the free Forge 007 DV with the mail in REVO flash. If you can do with out your car for a few days you can get a flash and FREE quality diverter valve. I had all three software companies's close to me as well and neither could beat ECode's deal. Every single tunner wanted more than the MSRP for the flash or Labor + flash = way more than $499 JUST FOR THE FLASH! (more like $600 and up for stage 1 after tax + labor). Removing the ECU was easy and I think I spent like $15 for shipping my ECU to ECode with insurance and didn't pay tax...so I spent $514 for REVO stg 1 software and a Forge DV. You can't beat that even today!!! I later bought some injectors and went to REVO stage 2 (1+) at one of the local shops, paying only $50. ...and REVO supports a wide variety of turbos (like I said) if you decide to go that route later you will only have to pay like $50 to upgrade software.

    Re: Stage 1+

I have APR 1+ which is good but if you ever go bigger you're gonna wish you had revo. Plus their stage 2(1+) is just as good, and I hear endless good things about revo. APR is ehh. Havent heard any problems with their ECU, maybe one or 2 people blamed problems on it which I'm not sure if it was actually caused by that, but APR in general is not the company people brag about like revo. For me thats enough to go revo. Either way you'll be happy with the power from either(in terms of what you should get from it).

I'm in north Florida but go to school near Orlando. Revo is the closest one and I'm gonna go get their free trial tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

    Re: Stage 1+

I talked to the Revo dealer today and the guy told me that I do not need injectors for the stage 2 program they offer. Is this true? I thought you needed the 386cc TT injectors...

Well i think we just ruled out your Revo guy. That sounds like something you may want to correct him on

Edit: Just checked out Revo's website and it actually says nothing about upgrading injectors. Interesting. Anyone of you experts care to elaborate?

Why not get an APR trial from Euro Technik? They're in Sanford, a little north of Orlando.

    Re: Stage 1+

Do a search on here/audiworld in the B6 forum and you will find days upon days of reading on stage 1+ (2).

If you want a general software flash it is stage 1. If you want the stage 1+ (APR), FX / BI (GIAC) or stage 2 (REVO) you need 380cc/386cc injectors. There are many types of 380cc injectors but I'll leave that up to the search button to help you with. If you want the "full" flash (aka not de-tuned) and to be able to "safely run the software" (not gernade your turbo faster, etc) you will also NEED several aftermarket parts which may include (depending on software) Test Pipe, Full exhaust, DV, Air intake, Intercooler, Turbo inlet pipe, etc.
