ABT Sportsline Coilovers

Ok so I'm looking to buy a set of ABT Coilovers from an AZ member and he's had them for about 2 years. The reason why he's selling them is that he's returning the car to stock. Now the real problem here is that he's stated that he's not quite sure how much thread is left on them or what shape they're in.

So the question is, would I be able to replace the threads or get it re-machined somehow? He's offered a reasonable price for it so I really wouldn't mind buying them off of him, I just need to know if there's a possible way to replace the threads if they really are that bad.

Why not ask ABT or you can even ask any KW dealer.
ABT coilovers are from KW. i think they will advise not to. The safest solution would be to get the new part and replace it. KWs are serviceable.
