Help with MAF sensor!!!

well i recently just put on downpipes and a catback on my car and i had no check engine lights before this install and when i get done the CEL pops on and i read it for codes im guessing it was the rear o2 sensors and the defoulers werent working but all im getting are mass air flow sensor codes and a primary o2 pre cat with no activity would changing an exhaust cause these to go bad or did they just go bad from age and wear please help and if anybody has a bosch MAF they wanna get rid of pm me TIA for help

The O2 codes could be from improper installation or damage during the dp install.

I have a bunch of Hitatchi MAFs and 2 extra housings if you want to do the conversion

no i had an exhaust leak but i got it fixed i know they have a thread on converting from bosch to hitatchi but what all would i need to do that?

They prolly list what you need in the thread. Clear your CEL and see if it comes back

well i actually just did that to check what would happen and ill let you know as soon as i notice if it comes on but my friend just has a little code reader ad these are the codes

Wow, im kinda lazy right now to look up what those codes are. If you come to the Supra meet on friday night i can use my VaginaCom and pull the codes with it. I dont think you need a ECU for the conversion. I know you do the conversion when you go stage 3 unless you go APR, so that would help for the future too. I would look into the conversion more, i was just throwing this out there.

Does the car drive smooth? How does it drive if you unplug the MAF?

idk i never tried unplugging but to me it drives good i mean it smells like its running rich but i figured that was due to the primary o2 being bad cause one code said its not getting any activity from bank 1 sensor 1

adam you still have some spare MAF's? mine died today when I was running a vette.

thought it was a boost leak at first but all my IC hoses were fine. unplugged the MAF and the car runs fine...

I bought it and never used it, it is brand new housing and sensor.

just cleaned it out. letting it dry and then i'll see how it goes....

Yeah so cleaning the MAF didn't help for shit. I'm going to re-check ALL my hoses again today just to make sure. It just seems weird that the MAF would die all of a sudden, the car had been idling fine.

Adam, please bring that MAF to the TFT show. I'll see if that helps. Thanks!
