Downpipes seems to be a matter of personal taste (and how much you wanna pay).

As far as catback goes, the 3 preferred options are custom, ASP 89mm, and AWE Twin 1.

I think i'm going with the ssac dp's with the AWE twin 1.

Re: Best exhaust and down pipe combo

... If you go the SSA dp and Twin1 route (like I did) then you may want to keep it civil around town, I would recommend using the resonated portion of the downpipe rather than the straight pipe.

Re: Best exhaust and down pipe combo

I won't even get into which setup is "best" as it's subjective.

But here's my opinion, I hope it helps: don't base your choice on videos. I did that. Regret it. If you can, find a local who will give you a drive.

I have a setup which sounds really great. But no video gave me an appreciation for how loud it was at higher speeds. Or for how it feels to be making huge amounts of noise just to accelerate at the same rate as a beat down civic! All the videos I've seen show WOT, or idle/revving. None show "normal" driving conditions. I love my setup when I floor it or when I'm idling, and hate it at all other times. Videos FTL!

You know that feeling as you pass a monster pickup that's just roaring loud? You think, "damn, that must be awful to have to endure that, how can he even listen to music in that thing?". Yeah, I'm that guy now...

I wish we did! by the time he got the clutch in and got it broken in, it was time for school to start again. By that time he put a muffler back on it because he got sick of it after a while, i wish he left it off tho

Nope! it's just straight pipes pretty much, he did all the welding himself, got premade bends and did it up. Search his SN, i'm sure that thread's around he some where.
