    vagcom for bad head or cylinder problem

    Anyway to use vagcom to find out if i hav a bad head or a problem with one of the cylinders? I keep losing coolant and getting terrible 17mpg

    You will need a leak-down test to determine if you have a blown head gasket. A VAG-COM would only tell you if you have a missfire from low compression caused by a blown head gasket.

    However, you could simply have a nasty coolant leak on your heater hoses (in firewall) connecting to the back of the head. That on top of a fault ECT sensor will make your mpg's go south.
