hey guys im about to install a new K04 and i really hate how my k03 is rusted to hell, so i dont want my new k04 and manifold to be all rusty. what can i do to stop this? is there any type of engine coating like VHT sells some good stuff that i could spray on there to prevent rust on the new parts? thanks so much.

    Re: manifold and turbo rust

the rust isn't a big deal if it's just atmospheric moisture. completely normal. if you are soaking the thing in water, then that's a different story.

but you can always get it ceramic coated. plenty of options out there. Swain is the most known for their manifold/turbo/dp coatings.

    Re: manifold and turbo rust

Cast iron and steel will rust with humidity, and will also rust with heat. You can coat it, but it is pretty normal. This is why some companies make their manifolds out of stainless steel (turns brown and expands, and sometimes cracks) or inconel (expensive).
