intake idea

alright so I want to hear what the audi fam thinks.


so my idea is simple and basic. I'm getting a cone filter and im trying to get a heat shield from 00Black1.8T i have the gsg piping only problem is have you felt that piping after a drive? its pretty hot. i want to wrap it in some type of thermal wrap (any one know where i could get some or what exactly to get)? although it wont be a large gain im hoping to see some hp. also i.m.o it way better than spending bank on the intakes out there that dont provide much gain

after driving my gsg pipe is cool to the touch :)... are you still on the stock box or are did you do the cone filter thing already?

i have heard about that stuff and its good... i think audinoob has it on his carbonio and under his hood

thermal wrap is a good idea, strange the intake pipe is hot, mine doesnt get hot..

look up phrost, he built a great heatshield!

I made a custom one also with everything I needed, cone, piping, maf sensor slot, and I was having a lot of issues. It was throwing check engine lights and after using vag-com to diagnose I was running too lean. It caused me more headache than to hear that diverter valve go whistle and sneeze.
