so yesterday when i got gas, i guess the attendant over filled the tank and some of it ran down my car...

needless to say, some of the paint has rubbed off...

looks like i need a respray soon...

DO NOT BUFF IT. It will look shiney if you do.

I carry a rag in my car and don't let a single drip touch when I fill up with gas. That sucks man. It definitly needs to be re-painted.

You know why that happened, Nj gas attendants Suck. when i had my Motorcycle a gas attendant spilled Gas on my pumas!!! i Say Repaint it:( you can try cleaning it cause it will just shine the Matte finish

Oh yea, and the whole panel will need to be re-sprayed. No blending Matte paint.

I would go back to that gas station and show them what they did. Don't expect them to pay anything though.

it sucks too, cause they can't even get rid of em now. There would be so many people out of jobs, were stuck. I've gotten into some heated arguments with the gas station guys (mostly the hindu/russian ones who dont speak much english) because I refuse to let them pump my gas. I had one actually chip my paint once trying to "jam it in there" and slipped or some shit. was an interesting situation.. ha

There are some places where it's actually illegal for someone other then an attendant to fill your gas. Like Oregon, it's ridiculous.

I could have sworn there was a couple pumps that would let you DIY fuel pumping, I'm not sure though. I was only there for a weekend.

I travel to NJ a lot, it's simple really. Tell them either they let you pump OR you'll take your business elsewhere. Always worked for me... if it doesn't big deal find a place that will let you

thats why i try to go to the same stations (the ones closest to my house) because once the attendents start to see you alot there more pleasent, and generally dont overfill or get gas on your car.

i really wish it wasn't a law in nj for the whole gas attendant thing. i don't trust any of them. they have no investment in your car or anything, so it seriously doesn't matter to them.

I doubt you could make the charges stick.

I'm sure the courts know that automobile paintwork is resistant to gas and oil.
The fact you've had it painted matte, that is not protected, would go against you.

In short, you've made a practical car impractical, in their eyes.

You'd figure if he spilled that much on your car he'd at least say somthing right away so you could clean it off before it did damage..

Why is there a law stating who is to pump your gas? Im from Texas and I never have heard of such a dumbass law. Why can't you go to the pumps when then station is closed and use your credit card/debit? Good luck on fixing the paint.
