Re: please help with boost gauge

the sensor should have a hose connector on it, no?

any vacuum line leading to the intake manifold will be fine.
i used the one closest to the front of the car on the manifold and split it with a T

Winter Park? Florida? post pictures of your gauge - it will help people answer your question. have you ever installed a boost gauge? If not, go to www.a4mods.com to see some great DIY writeups.

Re: please help with boost gauge

Unless you have some special gauge, you really just run some hose from the intake manifold to the boost gauge, then wire up the lights.

    Try this: http://www.goapr.com/Audi/support/boost_gauge_pod.pdf

Re: please help with boost gauge

I have no idea what that second picture is of and I can't see the other one. If you have a boost gage there should be part on the back for a hose that you run to the intake manifold as mentioned before. If it has light you need to wire switchable power to as well. The sites for DIYs above work fine, you can go to the FAQ/DIY part on the top aw well and there are two DIY in there with pictures.

Re: please help with boost gauge

if you look at the photos the sensor is clearly not part of the gauge. chances are that you need to run the boost line into the sensor then run the cable from the sensor to the gauge.

normally it's all inside the gauge so you just run the boost line directly to the gauge but this one appears to be separate.

Re: please help with boost gauge

I love when people try to "save some money" or "be different" by buying a part for their car that no one else uses and then ends up with no idea what to do.

Why the hell would you buy a gauge that lights up BRIGHT BLUE anyway when your entire interior is red and white?

The threaded fitting on the end of the sending unit is a 1/8" NPT male fitting. In order to hook it up to your car, you need to find a matching female cap with either a 1/8" PTC (push-to-connect) or compression fitting, along with some 1/8" air line, a T-fitting and a couple inches of vacuum hose.

Re: please help with boost gauge

You still need to tap the boost signal somewhere (mechanical), then connect the electrical sending unit with the boost signal to your electrical gauge (wire).

First things first, tap the boost signal from the physical vacuum line. Everything else will follow.
