Random question for the software companies

Just a random thought I was curious about:

How exactly does REVO/APR/etc. write ECU programs? Do you have software developers that tweak code or algorithms or something along those lines? And what language is the software written in, I'm assuming it's not C# or anything.

    its all written in hexadecimal

basically they adjust the maps built into the ecu that govern the engine

programs are used to interface with the maps and the hex

It's written with crayons on a diner napkin and then taped to your ECU when you aren't looking.

you know very same thought i had. when i was building my nissan with the sr and then when i built my suby there were some software out there that i could just flash what ever maps i wanted to. if revo is similar to that has no one yet come up with a way to do it all our selfs and basically upload maps that had basic info to a blog or something. just thinking out loud. example if your not familiar
