Just bought a 2001 B5 S4

I just bought a new to me 2001 S4 out of New Jersey off of e-bay with 50 000 miles for 8,500 USD. Im going to go and pick it up sometime next week and drive it back home to ontario. Anyone seen this car on e-bay upclose???

dude... did you check the RIV? registrar of imported vehicles, check it out. im pretty sure you cant bring b5's into canada from the states because of the bumper regulations. check on it before you leave, otherwise youre fucked.

Yeah i dont know about importing it into canada. I thought there was something about city lights that had to be done or something. But seems kinda sketch 50k miles for only $8,500 but hope everything turns out fine. good luck!

That's what I was just about to say. I've seen TIPs go for SIGNIFICANTLY less than 6spds. "Looks" in decent shape from what I can see, and it's got some nice extras, heated seats, steering controls, and a perfectly working diagnostic screen (... and now I hate you )

Oh, the dealer said it's fine....I'd definitely take them on their word. You really need to look at if you're able to import the car into Canada

I called RIV and you can bring it across the border but you need to have daytime running lights installed inorder for the car to get registered.PHEWW!!! You guys had me worried thre for a bit LOL

Bad time to buy from the US. By the time you factor in the exchange, taxes, extra work it takes getting there and bringing it home, not to mention the modifications needed (airbag warnings, DRL's, etc.) you could have had a nice one here.

I searched for 3 months and ended up buying mine from a guy in Windsor (4 hour train ride away) who was kind enough to meet me half way to test drive it beforehand.

That's a big risk you are taking...

Finding one in canada is damn near impossible ur lucky u managd to find one here... There alot of TIP and manual for around the same price but with ALOT more miles on them comapred to the 50 000 this one has.

Looks like it has scratches all along the rear bumper. And a dent on the left side above the rear wheel. Interior looks nice though and 50K for a 2000 isn't bad.

Seriously thoughI don't think it's that cheap for an auto, I've seen them go for far less. But that mileage is really nice and if it's been maintained, that's a fair price. Good pick up(if you can live with a tip).

Did they check it for codes? Is the CEL on? I'd want to check that info before you drive away from the place. I know its been said, but just because they say the turbo's are good doesnt mean they are. Do they offer any kind of 30 day warranty. I'd ask about that and if they do ask specifically what it covers. If its a dealer they usually have some type of warranty like that

Nothing wrong with that at all. If it's a clean car and you're happy with it, that's all that matters. I would have paid the premium for a manual and not really been concerned about the mileage, but that's just me.

I bought mine about 7 months ago with 70k on the clock, TIP for 12k, i inspected the shit outta it and i found that all 4 brake rotors were warped. I knew what i was getting myself into before i bought it. Rule of thumb is never purchase a car before seeing it in person and test driving it.

I hope there is nothing wrong with it, but for 9k with 50k on the clock there has to be and if there isnt then Congrats you got a steal!! and im jealous lol.

Thank you....Plus i havn't bought the car yet i have made a down payment but he isn't getting the money untill im check out the car and am issured that nothing is horrible wrong, If something is wrong i will just leave with my money and head back home.
