    frozen shifter?

i have driven manual cars ever since i learned how to drive and i have never had this happen to me. yesterday was cold, but not the coldest its been, stayed in the 20s all day. i hopped in the car around 4pm, started the car up, and then before letting off the clutch i went to jiggle the shifter like i always do by habit to make sure its in neutral. well the shifter wouldnt move! so i forced it and it finally came unfrozen, but it took forever (about 20 min of driving) before it would shift normal.

anyone ever have this happen?? its been in the teens before today and this hasnt happened.

just thought it was odd. post up. thanks!

    Re: frozen shifter?

my last car was a WRX, and when it would get cold it was like shifting while submerged in molasses for the first 5 mins, then as the car warmed up, it was fine.

    thick trans fluid, methinks.

yeah, probably some condensation got trapped somewhere along the way.
