    Rear Diffuser?

Essentially I'm looking for a rear diffuser for my B5, if such a thing exists. It's the same thing that the A4 has, only I dont know if that one is actually functional.

Best 'functional' one I know of is on the EVO.

I dont want it to look ricey. And I'd almost like it to be barely visible. Anyone know of such a product?

True track drivers need some downforce to keep the light ass of our cars glued to the road in mid/highspeed corners.

We need downforce at the front much more than at the rear. I've said hello to the grass at the exit of high speed corners a few times :)

Agree'd... what makes me laugh is honda civics with humongo rear spoilers. People don't realize the adverse effects of down force. Too much down force in the back makes the front very light thus causing under steer. Too much down force in the front causes overseer by making the rear light. The trick is finding the right balance were the car will dig its tires in to the track and handle in a very neutral manor allowing you to hug the apex and come out wide with out spinning out on to the grass.

I don't think you're being torched. FWIW, I have never seen any S4 bumpers with rear diffusers. Every now and then I see a car on the road with a fake rear diffuser that I like. Perhaps something like a Euro bumper but more extreme would be nice...

    I like this one:

But more like the EVO one, only... well, not as intrusive.

    Re: Rear Diffuser?

i guess the black insert in the euro rear S4 bumper technically constitutes a diffuser. However i believe it's more aesthetic than functional from a motorsport/track perspective

how fast did you get on the straight? sounds more like it's oversteer.

Huh? Speed alone won't tell you anything, it depends on the turn itself and other factors too. Trust me, it's not oversteer, that's a totally different experience!
