Dynoing Wed, who want's to guess what my peak hp will be?

Going in for a baseline dyno before I tear the car apart to put in RS6's. Mods/factors:
-Giac XR
-100 oct gas
-ASP dp's
-Apr catback
-Test pipes
-REALLY hard Mustang dyno
-~4300 ft above sea level

Any guesses?

Not really much info there. What boost will you be running? How many miles on engine? Is your chip actually tuned for 100 octane?

With the information you provided and that elevation I would guess somewhere in the range of 230-250awhp

I'm guessing you don't have an S4? Just a guess because I thought it was kinda common knowledge that the GIAC XR file is the race file, tuned for race gas. Not sure the exact psi, but it usually spike to around 15-16 and taper to about 14. 56k miles, I didn't know miles had a major impact on the power (I guess compression is a pretty big deal). I'm hoping for 250whp because the dyno is really rough and the elevation sucks.

You can only run 14psi on a 100 octane tune safely? No, I don't own an S4 (pretty obvious from my "garage"). I'm learning . What is the compression ratio? 9:1 or something? Perhaps my estimate is a little low but I was figuring the elevation was really going to sap power...idk.

I was just guessing without doing any real research (also I do not go by what the manufacturer power gain claims...it is almost always less than the claimed gains):
250hp stock
GIAC @ 14psi, 100oct - +65hp
Full exhaust - +35hp (unsure of your pipe sizes, 2.5"?)
Health of motor? - -5hp
Elevation - -10hp

= 335hp - 25% powertrain loss = ~250awhp

Again, you asked for guesses, so this is just my assumption based on my history with other cars and no history on the S4 other than my friend said they are 250hp stock. I always lean on the lesser side of things though so I don't get dissappointed. I was being generous with the powertrain loss, I would usually take 30% for AWD. IDK, be sure to post of the chart when it is all done :).

Yeah, I guess I just thought the average train of thought for a B5 S4 owner to this question would be something like, "The average stage 2+ makes ~260-290whp, + a little for race gas and program, - quite a bit for tough dyno and elevation." So the actual psi ran and mileage didn't even appear in my equation, that's why I was a little taken aback I wasn't being sarcastic when I said I wouldn't be surprised if it's around 250whp.

Timeframe for completion was supposed to be before Jan 9th, but I have a feeling it's going to be a little bit longer than that (just like everyone else's projects). I'll be running on an E85 tune from Greg at SSP, but I should be well over 450 horsepower crank. That's a safe, conservative estimate by your buddy for his setup. How is he tuned for 93 if WMS built his car (in Cali I assume?)?

i dynoed Stage 3- on a pretty tough mustang dyno and made 286.7/336 on pump 93 with a custom VAST 3- tune. When I went back with full 3, cracked 350/405 on a disgusting day when they didn't want me to even dyno, but the trip was too much to make again.

i would say 275 area with K03s on a tough mustang with race.

i feel u on the altitude. i live at 6200ft and yes its true at this elevation i only get about 14psi out of the GIAC XR on pump and 16-14psi on race. Sea level is always a fun trip. Im excited to see the results cause that will exactly where i am at!

Yes sir. Did you dyno there or know any other S4's that have? It would be cool to compare to other Audi's on that dyno, but I'm sure there's a ton of different stage Evo and STi info I can compare it to. I know a buddy with an Evo VIII who did 'pretty much every bolt on' (not really sure exactly what was done cause he's not a good buddy or anything, but I do remember mention of cams) on with Cobb's tune I think and he dynoed like 264whp or something on that dyno. Pretty crappy reference since I don't know the specifics, but I get more info on relative cars on that dyno when I talk to them.

Sounds too low for what he has, even for a mustang dyno. I'd say 275-285.

Yeah, Cobbs. I just wanted to do a quick baseline pull or two, but they require a 1hr minimum, $125/hr +$20 for the wideband use. They have the only currently working AWD dyno in the area, so I guess they have a monopoly

Ive heard horror stories about Cobbs dyno, and if i remember correctly it used to be $150/hr. I remember a post on an Evo forum a while back where like 40 people decided to boycot Cobbs dyno...not because of the price, but because they werent getting the big dyno numbers that they wanted lol
