The CEL will disappear on its own in 2-3 days. Don't worry about it.

The CEL may dissapear but the fault will stay stored in the computer until its cleared. You have to have a VAG com or similar to have the it cleared. I am not sure if autozone clears codes, they may.

    Correct.
Autozone (or it is Advanced Auto? I get the two confused) has an OBDII scanner you can clear the codes with. I used to use that before I bought VAG-Com.

mine was stuck there for more than a week, it never went away, even after doing 7+ cold/warm cycles. Here is what you should do:

    1) Unplug battery.
    2) Remove fuse #32 [engine management]
    3) plug back the battery
    4) Start the car [it wont, but try 2 or 3 cranks]
    5) Turn off the car
    6) Plug back fuse #32
    7) CEL gone, but the code is still there, so when you VAG it, clear them. At least it wont annoy you anymore.

Actually if you take the positive cable off the battery for 5-10 mins the CEL will be gone!
